Here’s a delicious treat that’s also the perfect hostess gift – Maple Cinnamon Pecans ! The recipe only calls for 7 ingredients and they cook in 7 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

  • 3 tbsp organic maple syrup

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

  • 2 cups pecan halves

  • 3 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper

Directions

  • Line a sheet pan with wax paper or parchment, and mix together cinnamon, salt & pepper in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Melt coconut oil in a skillet over Medium-Low heat. Add maple syrup, vanilla & cayenne pepper (if using). Mix together; when mixture is bubbling add the pecans.
  • Stir pecans well so they are completely coated in the maple syrup mixture. Cook for about 5 minutes on Medium-Low heat, or until you can no longer see any liquid on the bottom of the pan. Remove from heat immediately.
  • When off the heat, stir in mixture of cinnamon, salt & pepper. Toss well so nuts are evenly coated.
  • Spread out on prepared pan and allow to cool before serving or packaging – at least 1 hour.

Notes

  • Look for bags of pecans that contain 4 cups of nuts – that way you have enough for 2 batches! One for you & one to share!
  • Pecans can go from cooked to burnt very quickly, so it’s important to have all your ingredients ready, so you can toss them in the spices quickly, and get them off the heat and onto a sheet pan ASAP!

My new favorite use for these tasty little treats is atop this gorgeous Holiday Salad!

It’s as fun & festive as it is delicious! Simply toss your choice of salad greens with a simple Honey Mustard Vinaigrette, and top with delicious Mandarin orange segments, pomegranate seeds, feta cheese and these delicious Maple Cinnamon Pecans.  I guarantee everyone will clear their salad plates!
