Trader Joe’s Week!

This week, I took some shortcuts to simple and easy meals at my local Trader Joe’s!

If you didn’t know, Trader Joe’s is a wonderland of affordable and creative ingredients for making easy & delicious meals.  I get SO excited going in there because there are so many good buys and foods that you may not have tried before, but cannot resist.  I have SO many favorite staples from TJ’s, but my newest obsessions are:

  • Trader Joe’s Masala Simmer Sauce
    •  See my post, but this is the best, creamy, Indian flavor in a jar!
  • Trader Joe’s Frozen Organic Brown Rice
    • The quickest way to cooked rice – 3 bags in box!
  • Trader Joe’s Frozen Sweet Potato Gnocchi
    • So good! but don’t microwave like the package says! Roast it!
  • Trader Joe’s Italian Chicken Sausage
    • Lots of flavor options and so versatile!
  • Trader Joe’s Vegan Kale, Cashew & Basil Pesto
    • Vegan! but still so tasty!
  • Trader Joe’s Shawarma Marinated Chicken Thighs*
    • Obsessed with these! SO MUCH FLAVOR!

Next time you visit TJ’s, pick up 1 or 2 of each of these!

This Week’s Featured Meals

Chicken Tikka Masala

  • TJ’s Masala Simmer Sauce is the star ingredient of this 5-Ingredient meal.  It is aromatic & creamy and has just the right amount of spiciness!  Just add chicken and diced tomatoes to the sauce and turn on the Crockpot!

Gnocchi with Italian Sausage & Broccoli with Pesto

  • This Sheet Pan meal uses TJ’s Sweet Potato Gnocchi, Italian Chicken Sausage and their Kale, Cashew & Basil Pesto.  I added in broccoli florets to make this a complete meal! Ready in 20 minutes!

Shawarma Chicken Thighs

  • Confession – I did not provide a recipe with this item, because they are SO darn juicy and flavorful on their own, you don’t need one!  Also we made tacos with them immediately after coming out of the oven, they were inhaled before I could get a good picture!  This chicken is amazing in tacos, but would also be great on a salad, or with rice & a veggie.  Trust me – you will love them!
