So many good things about this dish! 1) it cooks in the crock-pot 2) it only takes 2.5 hours 3) it only requires 5 Ingredients and 4) it’s delicious!

The Trader Joe’s Masala Simmer Sauce is the star ingredient of this 5-Ingredient meal.  It is aromatic & creamy and has just the right amount of spiciness – I would dare to say its almost as good as your favorite Indian restaurant!

Homemade Tikka Masala that cooks itself! Thanks Trader Joe’s!

Ingredients
  • 1 (15 oz.) jar Trader Joe’s Masala Simmer Sauce
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (approx. 2 lbs.) - cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can Trader Joe’s fire-roasted diced tomatoes-drained
  • 1 package Trader Joe’s Organic Brown Rice - cooked
  • Optional: Sour Cream and Cilantro
Directions
  • Step 1 Pour half of the Simmer Sauce into the bottom of the slow cooker
  • Step 2 Top sauce with chopped chicken breast pieces – in a single layer
  • Step 3 Pour drained tomatoes evenly over the chicken
  • Step 4 Pour remaining Simmer Sauce over top
  • Step 5 Cook on High for 2.5 hours in crock pot
  • Step 6 Stir in tablespoon of sour cream to enhance creaminess if desired
  • Step 7 Serve over cooked rice and garnish with chopped cilantro and a scoop of sour cream if desired – enjoy!
