Broccoli Cheddar Bacon Quiche

Quiches are pies too!  And I love a good quiche!  I truly think that this recipe is the best I’ve found!  Seriously! It’s perfect for any meal, and packs so much flavor!

The primary stars of this quiche are Bacon, (we love Applewood Smoked!) steamed chopped Broccoli, and shredded Sharp Cheddar (I like Extra Sharp!) – all of these things you probably already have in the fridge!  I also use refrigerated pie crust, or you can use frozen pie shells.  (If you buy the pack of 2, you have enough to make this quiche AND the Tomato Pie also in this week’s post! 😉 ) To achieve the melt in your mouth richness, the recipe calls for 1 cup of heavy cream or half & half.  But you can use milk too, if that’s all you have on hand!

Broccoli, bacon and cheddar make the ultimate rich quiche recipe that will make you say Mmmmm! with each bite!

By:

Ingredients
  • 1 refrigerated (or frozen) deep dish pie crust
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half & half
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup steamed broccoli - chopped
  • 3 green onions - chopped
  • 4 slices bacon - cooked & chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded Sharp Cheddar cheese
Directions
  • Step 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out refrigerated pie crust in glass pie pan, crimp edges all the way around – set aside
  • Step 2 In medium size bowl, mix together eggs, cream, mayo, garlic salt, onion powder & black pepper until combined
  • Step 3 Fold in chopped broccoli, green onion, bacon and 1 CUP of shredded cheddar – pour into pie shell
  • Step 4 Sprinkle the top with remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar
  • Step 5 Bake for 50-60 minutes or until center is set when gently shaken. Check crust during last 10-15 minutes – cover with aluminum foil for remaining cook time to prevent crust over-browning. Enjoy!
